ANIMALS FEEL PAIN TOO

A chiropractic adjustment for an animal involves gentle mobilizations of the spine and extremities to restore proper biomechanics and nervous system function. The goal of the adjustment is to bring back pain-free movement and promote optimal function. It is essential to have your animal checked by a Certified Animal Chiropractor for acute and chronic issues.

What to expect

Each adjustment begins with a conversation of how the animal has been acting and feeling. While we talk, I’ll be paying attention to the animal establishing their trust and comfort. I’ll observe how the animal moves by watching them walk, and I’ll perform an orthopedic/neurological evaluation. We’ll discuss the potential issues your animal might be presenting and what we can do about them.

Then, depending on the case, we’ll start the adjustments, myofascial work, and stretching. I’ll also demonstrate some at-home exercises you can do with the animal to continue improvements. The entire visit averages from 30-40 minutes. After the adjustment, many horses and dogs need time to relax, so plan on allowing time for rest — no hikes or riding that day.
